Mourning Doves

Mourning Doves are very common in my area so I took the opportunity to paint a few that I've seen in the landscape close to me. I see them a lot perching on telephone wires and walking around my yard. I often hear their soft lamenting calls. And of course the bird has become known throughout the word as a symbol of peace, a symbol passed down from what seems to be the beginning of time! I thought, a worthy subject for a painting

  2. Nice painting Anne..and such good thoughts. Makes me feel bad about my annual dove hunting trips in September. I hung up the shotgun a few years ago.

    1. Good for you or I was going to jinx you like I did with the fish! So have you caught any recently??

      Thanks for visiting!

    2. No fish!! Your jinx on me is still going strong! Thinking you should draw a rough sketch of me catching a fish. That might work! Also appeal to a new clientele ;-)

    3. That's funny. That would be an interesting experiment and I could use a new clientele but still, to sacrifice the poor fish. :-(
