Last year I was commissioned by a friend to make a solarplate etching of an ancient Greek coin that she had recently received as a gift. I thought that was an interesting idea! It's very small so we had to find some old photographs of coins to help me figure out how the coins really looked since they are quite worn from use. Here's how it came out. I had a mat which was just the right color, I thought!

Merci :-)
DeleteIl était un sujet inhabituel. Pour moi!
Is yor friend happy ?
ReplyDeleteAnd what about Antimachus ???
:-)
She was very happy. As well as her boyfriend, who received it. It was a good day!
DeleteApparently Antimachus didn't have his own portrait placed on this coin but I'd like to think that he'd like my etching!
