Good Morning!

The African Violets (Saintpaulias) in my kitchen window are blooming like crazy right now. This one looks especially animated! I'd love to have hundreds of them. Or thousands.Certainly they would make great painting subjects. They don't move a lot and they are readily available! And they come in some great colors.

    1. :-] ok...sometime I will try to paint the most beautiful of Saintpaulias and then it will be shown in the world's most famous gallery! And everyone will be amazed. Now that's a good dream!

  2. botanical painting is really difficult, because it is a scientific one, each detail must be on the paper. It is not a dream ...

  3. I know, it takes very good observational and drawing skills. I can imagine that you have seen many beautiful ones. I saw an excellent show of botanical works a few years ago in Washington, DC. One of my favorite shows!

I was interested in botanical painting for awhile when I was working with watercolor. Then somehow I was distracted by printmaking!

hmm....I guess my imaginary landscapes are more dreamy.

Can you believe it? Another weekend! Have a good one!
